What is Rapid Manufacturing?
Rapid Manufacturing, also called Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM) is another industry-coined phrase similar to "RPM". Rapid Manufacturing employs the use of rapid prototyping technologies to create the finished product. It is best used when small lot sizes (up to 2000 parts) are required. Read more about DDM.

What is Rapid Prototyping?
Rapid Prototyping (RP) is a common name given to a variety of technologies that are used to create 3-dimensional prototypes directly from CAD files or digitally scanned data. It is also known as 3D printing or 3D printing service. In general the technologies create models of material in thin layers. These additive technologies offer advantages in many applications compared to subtractive fabrication methods such as milling or turning.

What is Rapid Tooling?
Standard Rapid Tooling is a process that uses rapid prototyping equipment to create a mold or tool quickly for a limited volume of parts. RedEye utilizes rapid prototyping equipment to create the functional end-use parts instead of creating Rapid Tooling. Parts made from our systems are made from high-performance engineering materials like ABS, polycarbonate and polyphenylsulfone and can be used for the final end product. The technologies used are ideal for quantities of up to 500 parts.
